There are other programs, but currently we use PhotoShop for rendering ideas or correcting imagery. Taking the initial image and cutting out component parts on multiple layers, we add parts, alter colours, or modify existing product. It not only helps with viualising new design quickly and cheaply, but also colour schemes for painters to work with, save on costly CGI edits or just enhance a memorable moment into a treasured artwork on the wall...
The Police Chase: customer wanted a more interesting shot for his memory wall. While out on his old classic, Bikerpics captured him on Fish Hill near Broadway, but he didn't like the modern Audi in the background. Unfortunately you take what is snapped at the time but, having approached us, we thought this had so much more potential. An old 40s shot of a police car in London and a few hours tinkering in Photoshop and he was overjoyed with the results...
CGI Re-Use: Re-cycling CGI shots with just a few tweaks can be costly so a few photoshop hours booked in can see subtle changes for a fraction of the cost.
New Forks: Nik, the editor at Back Street Heroes, wanted a quick idea of how springer forks from Dragon Soul would look on his chop before he decided on Black or Chrome finish...We only small, low resolution, online images to work with but managed to give enough of an idea to make a choice from. We won't go into any more detail than is necessary to keep costs to a minimum. Also estimates could be made on length, wheelbase as a guide to the changes to the new ride...
Update Paint Scheme: Our custom paint man Wobbz had a customer with a more standard paint job in mind to freshen up his old BMW GS with a mainly red and black scheme. With a little of our visualisation work he had about 7 choices of colour combinations and a decision was quickly reached...
Garage Built Designing: Cheyenne's BMW 'Problem Child' project started with the original mock-up out in the Street, and with layer build up we were able to add multiple colour options for frames, wheels, tank, graphics, and other parts to pull together the final design option and issue it to Wobbz for his magic touches...
